The Supertrend + CCI indicator for NinjaTrader is a technical analysis tool that combines the strengths of the Supertrend indicator and the Commodity Channel Index (CCI).

What is the Supertrend + CCI Indicator?
The Supertrend + CCI indicator merges two well-established technical tools:
- Supertrend Indicator: A trend-following indicator that uses price and volatility data to identify the prevailing market trend.
- Commodity Channel Index (CCI): An oscillator that measures a security's deviation from its statistical mean, indicating overbought or oversold conditions.
By integrating CCI into the Supertrend framework, this indicator improves the ability to detect trend changes and filter out market noise, providing clearer signals for decision-making.
Key Parameters and Customization
The Supertrend + CCI indicator offers several customizable parameters to align with different trading strategies and market conditions:
- ATR Period:
- Range: 1 to 256 (default is 4).
- Defines the period over which the ATR is calculated.
- ATR Average Method:
- Options include Simple, Exponential, Hull, Weighted, Wilders, TMA, VWMA, TEMA.
- Default is VWMA (Volume Weighted Moving Average).
- ATR Multiplier:
- Range: 0.1 to 10 (default is 1.1).
- Adjusts the sensitivity of the trend lines relative to market volatility.
- ATR/CCI Period:
- Range: 1 to 256 (default is 21).
- Sets the period for CCI calculations, affecting how the indicator responds to price changes.
Visual Customization
- Display Background Color:
- Enables a background color change based on trend direction.
- Background Opacity: Adjusts the transparency of the background color (0 to 100%).
- Trend Colors:
- Positive Up Brush: Color for uptrend lines (default is a shade of green).
- Negative Down Brush: Color for downtrend lines (default is a shade of red).
- Neutral Brush: Color for neutral trend lines (default is goldenrod).
- Background Colors:
- Background Brush: Background color for neutral trends.
These visual elements help traders quickly identify trend directions and make informed decisions.
