For those accustomed to visual cues indicating market open/close times, transitioning to NinjaTrader can present challenges in distinguishing these periods. The Region Shade tool addresses this by allowing users to shade up to three distinct regions on their charts.

Region Shade Features:

• Users can define start and end times for regions, accommodating spans that extend beyond a single day. For instance, a region might begin at 4 PM Eastern Time and conclude at 9:30 AM the following day.
• Background color and opacity are customizable.
• Options are available to apply coloration to either the price chart exclusively or the entire chart, including panels.
• The tool's functionality is influenced by the chart's time frame. For example, a 1-hour time frame may not align with a market's 9:30 AM opening. An included option allows for avoiding this discrepancy, though it necessitates generating a 1-minute data series, which slightly increases memory footprint.
• Compatible with various market open/close time templates.

Considerations for Use:

• The calculation method defaults to "OnEachTick" to ensure accurate background coloration. Changing this setting is not recommended as it may affect shading, the tool is optimized to minimize impact by activating only at the start of each new bar.
• To function correctly, the specified times must align with NinjaTrader's trading hours templates (accessible via Right-click on chart --> Data Series... --> Trading Hours). Templates like "Default 24 x 5" and "Default 24 x 7" are generally effective. Users are encouraged to experiment with different templates for shading outside regular market hours.
