Statistically, the Conners RSI (Relative Strength Index) oscillator typically performs better than the standard relative strength index (RSI) indicator. There are many advertised strategies available online for proper utilization. The key factor here is establishing that a trend is prevalent. This is normally the issue with any momentum oscillator anyway.  As with all of our indicators, we repackage some features to allow for greater customization.

Understanding the Conners RSI for NinjaTrader

The Conners RSI is a momentum oscillator designed to measure the relative strength of an asset over a specified period. Unlike traditional RSI indicators, the Conners RSI consists of three components: a standard RSI, an RSI rate of change, and the length of up and down movements. This unique combination provides a more comprehensive view of market momentum, making it easier to identify trends and potential reversals.

One of the key advantages of the Conners RSI is its ability to adapt dynamically to market conditions. The upper and lower limits of the indicator adjust within an acceptable range, allowing traders to focus on relevant signals without getting distracted by noise. This dynamic adjustment is particularly useful in fast-moving markets where traditional RSI indicators may struggle to keep up.
